American Horror Story

Watched American Horror Story (S01E01 "Pilot") the other night. And it was pretty damn good. For those who are worried about watching it for the horror factor, I wouldn't say it was scary. However, it was disturbingly creepy as hell.

The plot: A family move into a new house, hoping for a second chance. Interesting that it might be their last? ;)

A few noteworthy highlights:
  • The music was spot on. "Tonight You Belong To Me" by Patience and Prudence, "Twisted Nerve" by Bernard Herrmann, "Flickers" by Son Lux
  • The acting was brilliant. Dylan McDermott (Ben harmon: husband, dad, psychiatrist, walks in the nude), Connie Britton (Vivien Harmon: wife, mother, beautiful), Taissa Farmiga (Violet: daughter, stereotypical teenager), Jessica Lange (Constance: neighbor, southern lady, mother), Evan Peters (Tate Langdon: has issues, Ben's pt, Violet's friend, dreams about murder, "It's a filthy goddamn hopeless world we live in."), and Denis O'Hare (Larry Harvey: previous owner of the house, husband, father, murderer). The guest stars were also awesome: Frances Conroy and Alexandra Breckenridge played the housekeeper, and Jamie Brewer played Constance's daughter.
  • The guy in the latex suit was surprisingly hot in a super creepy kind of way
  • The jars were just creepy.
  • Shifty camera effects.
  • Dialogue.
  • The house.
WARNINGS: Sex, nudity, violence, profanity, drug usage. Young viewers, beware.

With that all said, I have no idea what really happened in the show.

Another summer has come and passed. And I didn't even feel it. It's times like these when I feel old. Time is passing me by and I haven't lived my life yet. When can I scream? When can I let go? When is it my turn?

It's me, not you.

I need to scream. I need to let go. I need to know when it's my turn.

I need to not wait for it to happen. I need to make it happen.

OMG!!! My Heart...

My heart is swelling with all the cute.

Just watched the Merlin (S4E01) "The Darkest Hour" extended preview.

Things that has me squeeing:
  • The dialogue is very S1. (But not)
  • Everything else has a totally different feel to it.
  • There are underlying words!
  • Meaningful looks!
  • Arthur being all heroic-like, in a reluctant knight in shining in armor kind of way.
  • Does that make Merlin the damsel in distress? His face--that look. I just want to hug him.
  • The bromance! Arthur and Merlin, you are doing everything right!
The best part:
Merlin: You're not scared?
Arthur: Oh, I am, Merlin... Maybe more than you.

Music That Transcends

Ludovico Einaudi - Andare

Einaudi: Andare by Ludovico Einaudi on Grooveshark

I was sitting at my desk, doing my homework. Ear plugs in, pencil scribbling away. Then this lyrical sound came on and drew me out, into myself. I found myself just sitting there, entranced. I closed my eyes and I had this perfect moment of clarity. Of stillness. Of peace.

I just had to share. Honestly, I felt like it nourished my soul, touched my mind and warmed my heart.

(This gem was scrobbled on my classical channel at last.fm. What a pleasant, beautiful surprise!)

Same Old Same Old

So, in about two minutes this place is going to be occupied with a blog I started years ago. Let's see how importing works!

ETA: Apparently, it worked pretty damn well.

Why the import? Well, firstly, I rediscovered my old blog. And secondly, I just got tired of having to switch back to a google account I use for spam. And now onto other things.

*SWOONS*

ZQ looking GQ at the world premiere of 'What's Your Number?' at the Regency Village Theatre (Los Angeles, California).

I love a guy in a suit. Just... UNFFF.

Just how awesome is ZQ here?
  • Barely there stubble (2 points)
  • Subtle use of stripes on stripes (3 points)
  • Amazing hair of awesomeness (5 points)
  • Looking relaxed, collected and comfortable in his skin. Super confident and oozes sexiness with ease (too many points to count)
Zach gets a perfect 10+++++!

The power of imagination...
