As to why I love YA, I love it because the books tend to make me think outside of my world. Think "The Chronicles of Narnia. Think "Harry Potter." Think "Hunger Games." I love being put in a world not of my own. Not sure if it's the inner child in me, wanting that sort of escape to play. To hope. To believe.

I GOT ME A DRAWING BOOK!

(I got it ages ago, but I'm gonna put it to use!)

Let's see if I can learn how to draw XD

I was first advised to draw three pictures (pre-instruction) and comment on anything I wanted to focus on, learn from and such. They'll be my "before" pictures so I can compare them later. This oughta be fun!

1) Self-Portrait

• Drawn in 18 minutes
• Used a mirror
• Need to work on pretty much everything.
• I like my glasses, even if it's a bit skewed LOL
• Shading! How to do it?
• Lips? Just how?
• Hair?!
• Also, JSYK, my head was tilted forward since I was looking at the mirror and drawing on a sketch pad in my lap. The drawing doesn't reflect that!
• And this doesn't even look like me!

2) A Person, Drawn from Memory

I guess I should first introduce you to the person I drew. This guy is Daryl, I met him only once. I am not even sure if I'm recalling his name correctly. I know that it starts with a 'D' and Daryl sounds like a good name for Mr. Gym Flirt Dude. I call him that because he's addicted to the gym and a flirt of the highest order, whatever that means. Anyway...

Comments. Shading... need to work on that. The eyes definitely needs work. And what's up with those ears and eyebrows and nose? I should add that the guy in the picture looks a lot more boyish than the guy in real life. And the mouth and chin/jaw is all wrong but that is what the hand drew!

(I wish I drew a full body picture because this guy was seriously built like a truck with tattoos all over XD)

Oh well, who cares? Moving on!

3) My hand

And this is my left hand :)

I actually like this! I usually forgo drawing hands because I am terrible at it by placing arms in strategic places XD

I need to work on position and spacing...

Okay, so that's it for now. Let's see if I can get to the end of the book. I just really really want to learn how to draw. XD

I love my dreams XD

This guy was in my dreams the other night. Had to draw his face because... just wow. It was a dream that actually stayed with me. LOL

Could be a manifestation from my current fangurl obsession with Derek Hale. I kinda fashioned the guy from my dream after him.

Or, he could be the same guy from a a dream I had in High School. The thought came to me after I finished sketching.

I don't know. I don't know. All I know is that these two dreams are dreams that I can actually recall bits and pieces of. Okay, maybe I can recall my High School dream because I drew it, but whatever! XD

Think of one thing, right now, that you are thankful for.

This one thing can be anything. It could be the person next to you or someone who is out there, miles apart. Or it could be something as simple as dinner tasting good, or a book you read. Just think of something positive.

I hope that you can hold onto that positive something. Let it be the thing to focus on.  Let it clear out the negatives. Even if it is just for a moment, let go. Maybe then some happiness can slip in.

Heh, I managed to draw my favorite scene, just in time for the release of A Lady by Midnight XD

Oh, look, it's Merlin!

While waiting for the closing ceremony of the Olympics in London to air on TV, I whipped out my sketchbook and ended up drawing Merlin. Can't wait for the new season to air!

(I really really want to learn how to draw lips properly. Any tips?)
